Professional Background
Warren Simmons has qualifications in psychology and philosophy and has previously worked as a psychiatric nurse. He has been registered as a psychologist for over 25 years with more than 35 years experience in the field of mental health. He has both undergraduate and post graduate qualifications and for the past twenty years has worked primarily with a wide range of offenders. This has been with the Community Program at the Victorian Institute of Forensic Mental Health during which he spent time as Program Manager for Community Forensic Psychiatry with responsibility for conducting the Community Program including the treatment of violent and serious offenders. For the past 18 years, he has been in full-time private practice and provides services to the Courts. Warren is also an accredited drug and alcohol clinician and works in a sessional capacity with the Community Offenders Advice and Treatment Service Program.

Professional Memberships
Warren Simmons is a registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency which registers and regulates the practice of all psychologists in Australia. In addition, he is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and the Australian & New Zealand Association of Psychiatry, Psychology and the Law. He has published papers on the meanings of health, on what is a profession and the management of serious violent offenders in the community.

Fees
The current fee is $200 per session, this being open to negotiation in cases of hardship. Should a referral have been made under the Better Access to Mental Health Care program, then the service will attract a rebate from Medicare. Payment to be made at the time of the appointment by cash or cheque and the rebate claimed from Medicare. Unfortunately, there are no facilities available for credit card or EFTPOS payments.
